Within the scope of the research, Turkish textbooks recommended by the Ministry of National Education for the 2016-2017 academic year were discussed. In this study, which is in the qualitative research design, method of document examination is used. And the data are analyzed with descriptive analysis. The findings are presented in table form. As a result of the study, it was seen that there were not much differences among the books in terms of the distribution of informative genres. The most common types of informants in books are trials. Interviews and autobiographies were not found. Also, as the class level increases, the ratio of the texts in the informative type increases among the total texts found in the books. When the distribution of informative texts to reading and listening texts is examined, it was found that more text was included in the books.
