The participants of this investigation are 231 students from 1., 2., 3., and 4. Class of spring semester of preparatory of academic year 2016-2017 of French language Education in Faculty of Education and French language and Literature in Faculty of Arts and Science of Ankara Gazi University. The data of this investigation was collected through four subscales called The Scale of Beliefs concerning Code-Switching developed by Yıldız and Coşkun (2016) in order to measure students beliefs about code-switching regarding French language. The data taken from students was analyzed by using SPSS-15.According to research findings, students’ belief related to change the code within the context of sub dimensions are average and above average. This indicates that the students who responded to research are supporting the usage of mother tongue in some cases in their French language educations. Especially, the students’ need for mother tongue in explanations of the lecture was observed; however over usage of the mother tongue may alienate them from the target language. Therefore, while using mother tongue it is required to determine the usage amount of it, as well as the students’ needs correctly. In order to make students better master the language in question, they have to hear the language constantly, thus it is required to pay attention to the measure of code change significantly. Researches made in this area are insufficient. Therefore, detailed studies may be designed with mixed method researches in which quantitative and qualitative study methods are used together.
