Abstract

Günter Kunert, one of the most important names in German literature, presents a narrative world with a story called Die Waage that develops on the basis of justice, human, social criticism. He often combines his works with sections from his own life with aesthetic narrative features. His strong literary direction comes to life with his autobiography. Kunert creates a point of departure in his works by going out of his way. This movement point is also very influential and guiding for him both in equipping the figure and in shaping the place.Kunert's criticism of justice and system, which he tried to give in the narrative, is actually shaped by the loss of value. Indeed, modern society and changing people become clear with reference to justice and system in the story. In particular, Kunert, who is an important figure in National Socialist criticism points, can be portrayed as a writer who draws attention with his critical approach to both individual and social problems.
