THE STORY OF TEACHER MÜCAHIT KORÇA WHO IS IDENTIFIED IN THE BALKANS WITH THE SLOGAN “LET’S LEARN TURKISH WITHOUT A TEACHER’’ BALKANLAR'DA “ÖĞRETMENSİZ TÜRKÇE ÖĞRENELİM” SLOGANIYLA ÖZDEŞLEŞEN ÖĞRETMEN MÜCAHİT KORÇA’NIN HAYATI
Teacher Mücahit Korça was a pioneer in teaching physics and general technical education classes to Turkish students in former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Born in the town of Struga, he started his teaching career in Turkish, Macedonian, and Albanian languages in his native town. He later continued teaching in Turkish at “Tefeyyüz Elementary School in Skopje, where he also acted as a school director for a period of time. He was the author of numerous cross-language learning books and dictionaries in Turkish, Yugoslavian, Macedonian, and Albanian, as well as the translator of numerous physics and general technical education text-books from Macedonian to Turkish. He was married to Belkıs Korça, his primary supporter throughout his life.
