Language learning is a process that starts in the mother's womb in human life and continues throughout life. If there is a speaker and learner of a language, the source should be a teacher. From this point of view, it is impossible to determine the beginning of the history of the Turkish language and determine its details (Güzel, 2017). In today's scientific research, evidence-based approach is popular. According to the evidence-based approach, a Turkish language history of at least six thousand years can be mentioned based on Chinese sources (Caferoğlu, 1984). In this study, the period of teaching Turkish as backward from the date of establishment of the Republic of Turkey has tried to be understood. BC in prior periods if considered as a turning point in Turkish education institutions of the Republic of Turkey were discussed by trying to split into three. 1) Period between Divân ü Lügati’t Türk and establishment of the Ottoman Empire. 2) The period from the beginning of the Ottoman Empire to the Tanzimat Edict 3) Tanzimat Edict until the founding of the Republic of Turkey from the period studied. In the study, content analysis technique which is one of the qualitative research methods was used. Content analysis technique is a frequently used technique in the analysis of written and visual materials in studies on social sciences (Silverman, 2001).
