Abstract

This research is a study aiming to determine the field related equipment and the opinions of the lecturers who give a course on children literature in Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Programs. The survey method was used in quantitative research methods. A questionnaire was applied in order to determine the equipment and the opinions of the instructors who gave children's literature lesson. The questionnaire form for the faculty members was applied to 32 volunteered faculty members from 26 of 57 state universities that have Turkish Language Teaching program. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed by using frequency and percentage from descriptive statistical techniques. SPSS and MS Excel programs were used in the making of the analyses. According to the findings obtained from the research, it is seen that most of the instructors who teach Children's Literature take this course as an undergraduate level course (one term and 2 hours in a week) and they publish more at the level of bulletins about the field. In our country, it would be correct to say that the faculty members are specialized in this field only through individual efforts, considering that there is no Chair of Children's Literature in any of the universities at the tertiary level.
