Abstract

Abstract This article talks about the conception of death in the poem entitled Demain dès l'aube by Victor Hugo. This poem appears in his collection "Les Contemplations". Hugo writes it on the eve of the 4th anniversary of the death of his daughter Léopoldine. He describes both his itinerary and his feelings during his journey to his daughter's grave.What prompts us to approach this poem, first, is the new vision of death appeared through and behind the lines of poems. Hugo comes to a high degree of pain and sadness, so he tries by some sort of emotional intelligence, comes as a result of a long experience in life, to control his feelings and produce one of the poems added to a work of poetic genius.
