THE VALUES THAT STAND OUT IN BAHAEDDİN ÖZKİŞİ’S NOVELS

Abstract

In this study, “Köse Kadı”, “Uçtaki Adam” and “Sokakta” an novels written by Bahaeddin Özkişi were examined in terms of Values Education. In this study, a list of values created by selecting the twenty three basic values from the values included in the Turkish Language Teaching Program (2018), Social Studies Curriculum (2018) was used. These values; justice, humility, courage, generosity, diligence, solidarity, honesty, equality, sacrifice, reliability, cooperation, compassion, hospitality, self-confidence, sharing, patience, loyalty, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, fidelity, helpfulness. The source of the research is based on “the study of in Bahaeddin Özkişi's Works in Terms of Values Education”. In this article, Bahaeddin Özkişi's most studied values were examined in his novels. These are respectively, by frequency values: helpfulness, respect, patriotism. The study consists of four parts. In the first part, the introduction and definitions about the concepts, the second part of the research method, the third section the findings, the fourth section contains the results. Qualitative research methods were used in the study and literature review and content analysis were performed.As a result, considering the data obtained from the study, it was determined that the novels of Bahaeddin Özkişi could be the source of the transfer of values to the students.
