Abstract

Aim of this study is to determine the level of significance and comparison of the activities which are supporting, reinforcing and increasing the skill of using Turkish during the courses in Teaching of Turkish as a Foreign Language. Determining criteria, sub criteria and alternatives and referring to the recommendations of the expert, interview questions to provide a reliable measuretment and implementing interviews data were collected. It was analyzed using Excel program with analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to obtain data in research. Through this study, percentage of level of significance of auxilary course activities and of four basic skills (reading, speaking, listening, writing) in the process of teaching Turkish as a foreign language have been determined. According to the findings, the most significant of four basic skills in teaching Turkish is speaking (48%). Then listening with 33% and reading 11% consequtively. Writing is the least significant with 8%. In comparison among the activities which are assiting to the course, the most useful activity has been “living in a-Turkish-speaking-country for a certain peirod” with the ratio 22%. Based on the findings acquired, people who either teach or learn Turkish can decide easily which skill should be focused in a great deal.
