Abstract

Modern studies provided us with detailed descriptions of passivization in Turkish; however, they have not been transferred to learning materials of Turkish as a foreign language in a holistic way. The aim of this study is to discuss the properties of the passivization in Turkish as dealt with in modern studies, and to propose a material to learning environments of Turkish as a foreign language, which includes these detailed properties of passivization. In this respect, the research question is whether these properties can be transferred to learning environment in a holistic way. Under this main research question, the answers will be sought to question as to what the properties of passivization in Turkish are, and how they can be transferred to learning environments. The framework has helped shape a material proposal towards how such properties can be transferred. The language level of this material is B1+. Cognitive approach and task-based learning method have been employed in the preparation of this material.
