Abstract

This study on simultenous interpreting involves the sample group of the students having participated the courses of simultenous interpreting given at Marmara University, Departments of Translation and Interpreting. After having a long preparatory training, the students were initially provided with the theoretical, methodical, and technical data during these relevant courses. The students’ interpreting skills were observed through the exercises and practices carried out in the well-equipped booths conforming with those of the sector. The translation techniques and strategies, the most significant factors of the interpreting process, were evaluated in accordance with the previously specified criteria. The effects of the most commonly used methods in this field on the study and its results were also explained.
