Abstract

Address to the Youth, explanation of duty of the youth and a trust of the duty to sustain and protect independence and republic obtained within the blood of the ones every corner of the beloved homeland, is a clear statement of faith and target to protect existence- presence. In the mentioned text, after the expression of negative condition in it, the duty of for the youth has been indicated as a source to brace up. The mentioned source is thought of nationalism that is shaped in the axis of homeland, language, culture, history, custom, religion and morality. Within the strength from this source, the obstacles before the liberation of the individual and nations amongst values of information age by not surrendering to this authority regardless of the threat will be eliminated. We see the first samples of the tradition to leave works that will make national awakening come true as one of the ways to yield national unity in Gokturk inscriptions. These texts are seen as the symbol of independence, unity, decisiveness, courage and similar noble feelings of the nations. We think that practice of grammar methods will be useful to make sense of the messages in this kind of texts including suggestions for the next generations in every period. In this study, the way to sustain and protect our national unity will be analyzed in terms of messages, syntax and parts of speech that dwell in Address to the Youth by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
