Literal texts which written for children on the one hand carry an educational identity on the other hand develop children's esthetics intelligence and by this they aim to place selectivity into the inner world of children.Stories and novels are the leading of literary works that children read with interest and pleasure . In the development of children's reading habits and enjoyment, stories and novels have a big importance to getting the knowledge and explanations of the causes of events. Stories and novels enrich children's limited life experiences and allow them to think about various types of people. In this context, it makes it easier for children to integrate into their collective and cultural environment.In this study, Zeynep Cemali's novel The Girl with Roller Skater was examined in terms of form, content, language and expression, which are the basic elements of children's literature and she is one of the important authors of the last era's children’s literature.The study is descriptive and has been prepared by document examination method. The results of the research show that the form features of the novel are sufficient in terms of size, paper, page layout, writing and punctuation however the artifact is lacking in painting; content features such as subject, main idea, event, hero, place and time, narrator, message are appropriate for the level of children; gaining love of language and correct use of language to the child readers except proverbs, idioms, analogies and dilemmas which are in characteristics of language and expression ; is enough to improve the vocabulary.In this context, Turkish textbooks can benefit from this work for the purpose of correct, beautiful, effective use of Turkish.The writer's child novel that we try to examine is important in terms of reflecting contemporary child and human relationships.Such novels may be included more frequently in primary and secondary schools in order to raise generations who have adopted universal and traditional values in an increasingly globalizing world and have developed themselves with the strength they have acquired from these values},author={Arife ERDOĞAN HORASAN-& Zehra GÖRE},year={2017},journal={International Journal of Language Academy}}
