Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation between lifelong learning tendencies and reading motivations of Turkish Teaching and Turkish Language and Literature students.Accordingly, the fourth-year students of both departments were selected. The scales were applied to the fourth-yearstudents of Turkish Teaching, and to the students receivingPedagogical Formation in Turkish Language and Literature department, Faculty of Science and Letters. According to the results obtained it was found that in terms of the mean scores the teacher candidates had a good level ofreadingmotivation, and their lifelong learning tendencies were at moderate level. In addition, it was reported that there was a positive correlation among the subscalesof the motivation scale and there was no significant correlation between the variables and the lifelong learning scale.
