Abstract

Everywhere in the world, one of the elements that come as a common feature of children is play. The game has a feature that allows children to socialize and as well as develop from various physical and mental care. In particular, traditional children's games what can be called classic children's games are very important in this regard. Some of these games can be played alone or with a friend, but the great majority of them are played by a group of children. Most of the games are being played and developed by determining the rules by the group members. The game is universal in terms of children's common tastes as well as in terms of the cultural elements they have in it. That is to say, every nation has its own traditional children's games, traces of the nation they belong to. In this respect, traditional children's games are take on an important task of transferring cultural heritage to future generations.Today, technological developments and urbanization have taken children captive. They are trapping them in houses, and transfer them into the slave of technology. All this and similar reasons, is causing irreversible problems in children. For this reason, the traditional children's games which are disappearing day by day must be compiled and examined and become fashionable among the children again. The aim of this study is to compile games played with bats by children in Aksaray, to try to be introduced in terms of shape, form, playing environment and players, and to evaluate to the mentioned cultural elements to future generations by being evaluated from folklore.
