Abstract

In classical Turkish literature there are poems and prose written on cities with various occassıons. Urban poems that can be a source of history, culture and a parth of a city are the metaphor of the natural beauties, architectural structures, beauty and prominent features of the subject city in general. Although the numbers are fewer than eulogy, there are mercurials written on the cities, and those living in the city are enfeebled. This work is about the Medina kasida, which is not included in the published divan of Revani, a poet of 16th century divan literature. In the study, first of all, information about city poems and features will be given and then the life of Revani will be briefly mentioned. In the main part of the article, the poem will be introduced with the collections of poems and will be examined in terms of shape and content. In the course of the examination, similarities and differences will be revealed by comparing them with the four poems written on the Medina. At the end of our study, we will be given the transcriptional text.
