COMMON MOTIFS OF TRADITIONAL LITERATURE IN “THE ROBBERS” AND “THE EPIC OF KOROGHLU” “HAYDUTLAR” VE “KÖROĞLU DESTANI”NDAKİ GELENEKSEL EDEBİYAT UNSURLARI
The main focus of this study is to compare the drama “The Robbers” by German playwriter Friedrich Schiller which is one of the most celebrated works of German literature with “The Epic of Koroghlu” in Anatolian folk epic tradition. This paper will examine common motifs in these two works belonging to the different cultures in light of comparative literature studies with text based approach. As conclusion this study will show that these common motifs existing within traditional literature are universal.
