Magazine published twelve numbers in total. “Çocuklara Arkadaş “ is important because it is the first magazine that uses illustrations except the cover. The texts in the journal are of story, fable, clause, chat, letter, article and concise words. The magazine includes stories about the story, the writings about the moral lectures, informations about animals and various goods, the writings about Istanbul's neighborhoods and historical places, entertaining jokes, letters from the readers. These texts have contributed to the development of children's magazines and to reach the contemporary level. For this reason, “Çocuklara Arkadaş” is important for children magazine and literature. The last issue of the journal was published on 5 October 1882.
