Each sport branch has its own jargon, cliché, and even argot. This rich vocabulary is reflected in sports news, comments and texts. The language of sport is dynamic, concrete and imaginary; it contains idiomatic, metaphorical expressions. The language of sport has an economic and intensified vocabulary. Sport language is creative. In the language of sport, by nature, foreign words taken from English are frequently found. Sport terms are up to date. As sport is settled into daily life, as it is adopted, his terms are expanded in daily language. Technology is one of the most important factors in the spread of sports terms. Sport language includes verbal and nonverbal forms of communication. While understanding sports news texts requires a linguistic and cultural sporty background, we believe that translating requires a high level of cognitive ability. In this respect, we think that sports news texts, which constitute one of the special areas of press translation, should be given a separate place in translation education. From this point of view, sports news texts in the source language are examined in terms of text type, structural (mode-time-aspect, elliptical expression, name derivation), semantic (euphemism, borrowing, abbreviations) and cultural (jargon, cliche, argot, figure of speech, proverbs and idioms) aspects and the difficulties encountered in their translations are tried to be determined. Within the framework of the communicative approach in translation, linguistic communication, constructive terms of linguistic communication, functions of language and compensation method are included.
