Abstract

General definition of writing which is a skill in the expression dimension of education, is the transfer of experiences, knowledge, emotions or thoughts about a subject to paper. One of the suggested solutions for students to develop their writing skills which is acquired by harder compared to listening, reading and speaking skills, is to use different methods during the course. Writing as a group, which is one of the techniques that there is not an activity in the textbook, although it is included in the writing methods and techniques; It is organized in order to enable the students to work in harmony, to establish healthy communication and to gain group awareness to assist them in their personal development. The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of writing technique as a group on writing self-efficacy. The research was carried out with students studying in a secondary school in Altındağ district of Ankara province in 2018-2019 academic year. The study was conducted in a quasi-experimental manner with pre-test and post-test groups for 12 weeks. In the experimental study, writing technique as a group was designed by getting researcher's opinions. SPSS v22.0 was used for data analysis. This research has showed that Writing as a Group has a positive effect on writing self-efficacy.
