Abstract

The consistency in teaching students about punctuation and orthographic marks is a main prerequisite for their successful expression in the written form. Thus, it is extremely important for Macedonian language teachers and students, regarding these marks, to have correctly written materials which would enable them to perform their activities in the most precise manner. Consequently, the objective of the paper is to note whether the difference between the punctuation and orthographic marks is indicated and whether the classification of the marks is done properly, including both, the Macedonian language teaching programs and the Macedonian language course textbooks for the nine-year primary education. The analysis demonstrates that there is a necessity of revision when writing the teaching programs and course textbooks because there is a lack of more precise content, and there are also inconsistencies regarding the classification of the marks.
