Abstract

English language teaching (ELT) is gaining huge importance and every year the number of people studying foreign languages increases drastically. This is on the one hand, on the other hand, our educational institutions need to be provided with the skilled instructors so that foreign language teaching attains the goals and objectives that are planned to be attained. This study aims to investigate the usefulness of teaching thinking skills and other skills that lead in the end to create a self-independent learner and a more capable language instructor on a university level. The findings came up to in this research are of significance to textbooks designers, educationalists as well as researchers and students.
