Abstract
Tanzimat Dönemi’nin önemli sanatçılarından olan Muallim Naci, asrın ikinci yarısında edebiyat zümresine dâhil olmuş, elli yılı bile bulmayan kısacık ömründe, şiir, tenkid, hikâye, makale, mektup, edebiyat tarihi, piyes, hatırat ve deneme alanlarında eser vermiş velûd bir sanat adamıdır. Ancak onun şöhretini asıl kazandığı yer, şiirleri, tercüme eserleri ve tenkidleridir. Bu üç temel alanın yanında Muallim Naci’nin pek bilinmeyen bir yönü daha vardır: Naci, manzum hikâye türünde de eserleri olan bir şairdir. Fakat onun sanatının bu cephesi nedense gereken dikkati toplayamamıştır. Türk edebiyatında mesneviler üzerinden ilerleyen manzum hikâye yazma geleneği, Tanzimat edebiyatının ilk döneminde ilgi görmemiş, fakat bilhassa ikinci nesilde yer alan Abdülhak Hâmid ve Sami Paşazâde Sezai ve Muallim Naci sayesinde yeniden canlanmıştır. Destan geleneğinden gelen muhtevaya ilişkin temel, bu dönemde Batı’dan yapılan tercümelerin tesiriyle biçimsel bir dönüşümden geçmiş, böylelikle manzum hikâyecilik yeni bir tekâmül dönemine girmiştir. Muallim Naci’nin ömrünün önemli bir bölümünü Osmanlı ve İslam tarihi araştırmalarına verdiği malumdur. Onun Musa bin Ebu’l Gazan yahud Hamiyed, Gazi Ertuğrul Bey ve çalışmamıza konu olan Zâtü'n-Nitâkayn -yahud- İbnü'z-Zübeyr adlı manzum hikâyesi böyle bir gayretin sonucudur. Kendi ifadesi ile “bir trajedi oluşturmak üzere” kaleme aldığı eser, konusunu İslam tarihinden almaktadır. Çalışmamızda daha evvel yalnızca Latin harflerine aktarılmış olan eserle ilgili şekil ve muhtevaya ilişkin incelemeler yapılacaktır.

Abstract
Muallim Naci, one of the important writer of the Tanzimat Period, was a member of the literature class in the second half of the century, and in his short life of not even fifty years, he is an writert who has worked in poetry, criticism, story, article, letter, literature history, play, memoirs and essays. . However, it is in his poems, translated works and criticisms where he gained his reputation. In addition to these three basic areas, there is another unknown aspect of Muallim Naci: Naci is a poet who also has works in verse story genre. But this aspect of his art for some reason did not get the attention. The tradition of writing stories in verse, which progressed through mesnevis in Turkish literature, did not attract attention in the first period of the Tanzimat literature, but was revived, especially thanks to Abdülhak Hâmid and Sami Paşazâde Sezai and Muallim Naci, who were in the second generation. The basis of the content coming from the tradition of the epic underwent a formal transformation with the influence of the translations made from the West in this period, so that verse storytelling entered a new evolutionary period. It is known that Muallim Naci gave an important part of his life to Ottoman and Islamic history studies. His verse story of Musa bin Ebu'l Gazan yahud Hamiyed, Gazi Ertuğrul Bey and Zâtü'n-Nitâkayn -yahud- İbnü'z-Zubeyr, which is the subject of our study, is the result of such an effort. The work he wrote “to create a tragedy” in his own words takes its subject from the history of Islam. In our study, it is to examine the form and content of the work that was previously transferred only to Latin letters.
