AbstractWhen learning a foreign language, it isnt't enough to learn just the rules of that language. It is necessary to learn the culture of the community of the spoken language, the way people behave aech other, the words to be spoken in different situations, the ways of responding the forms of addressing and their behaviors. Also, the importance of cultural transfer in foreign language teaching is on undeniable reality. Cultural transfer in foreign language education is usuallay carried out through textbooks which is used in the classroom. For this reason, the texts in the textbooks of teaching Turkish in foreign languages should show reflective characteristic of our culture in terms of vocabulary. In this study, proverbs idioms and relation words in reading texts in textbooks prepared for the teaching Turkish to foreigners were examined and evalated in terms of taget culture transfer. In this study, document review method were used. The reading texts in the Seven Climate A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 Turkish textbooks were examined by the method of document examination and the element of the vocabulary in the texts were examined by classification method. In this study, vocabulary elements ( proverbs, idioms, relation words ) in the reading texts of the Seven Climate Turkish textbooks were determined and exraluated by comparison. According to the results of the study, it was seen that there were differences between the six books in terms of the number of elements of the vocabulary. The Seven Climate Turkish coursebook C2 is the richest of the six books on the basis of vocabulary. It has been seen that the examined books are not rich except for the relation terms in terms of vocabulary elements.
