This article explores the motivations behind the Academy of the Arabic Language in Egypt's globalization efforts and its engagement with foreign experts and Western orientalists. Established in 1932, the Academy aimed to promote the Arabic language and its jurisprudence, initially comprising members with expertise in Arabic research and dialects. From its inception, the Academy exhibited a global character through its diverse membership, which included Egyptians, scholars from the Arab world, and notable Orientalists. Over time, the Council of the Academy was reconstituted to include a significant number of non-Egyptian members, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity and fostering academic and cultural exchange. This engagement has been pivotal in advancing the Arabic language and culture internationally. The article delves into the Academy's evolution, examining its foreign membership and the contributions made by foreign experts. It highlights the impact of these collaborations on academic and cultural exchanges between Egypt and the Western world, as well as addressing the challenges faced by the Academy. Notable individuals exemplifying the Academy's commitment to globalization are also discussed. Through this analysis, the article underscores the Academy's significant achievements and its role in promoting linguistic and cultural exchange on the global stage, showcasing how its inclusive approach has been crucial in building academic ties between Egypt and the wider world.
