SURİYELİ ÖĞRENCİLERİN ATASÖZLERİ-DEYİMLERİ BELİRLEME, AYIRT ETME, KAVRAMA BAŞARILARI ÜZERİNE BİR İNCELEME

Abstract
Bu araştırmada Türkçeyi ikinci bir dil olarak edinme sürecini yaşayan, geçici koruma altındaki Suriyeli öğrencilerin, dilin temel söz varlığı unsurlarından atasözleri ve deyimleri belirleme, ayırt etme ve kavrama becerilerini tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Belirlenen amaç doğrultusunda 2021-2022 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Batman ilinde faaliyet gösteren sekiz temel eğitim kurumunda, 5. sınıf düzeyinde öğrenim gören, kırk dört geçici koruma altındaki Suriyeli öğrenci, olasılık dışı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kolaylıkla bulunabilen örnekleme yoluyla çalışma grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada deneysel olmayan nicel araştırma desenlerinden betimsel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen ve üç ana madde, on iki alt maddeden meydana gelen bir başarı testi çalışma grubuna uygulanmıştır. Veri toplama süreci tamamlandıktan sonra öğrenci yanıtlarını içeren test nüshaları dereceli puanlama anahtarı ölçüt alınarak incelenmiştir. Araştırma soruları çerçevesinde elde edilen bulgular, betimsel istatistikler yardımıyla (frekans, yüzde ve aritmetik ortalama) tablolar hâlinde yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda geçici koruma altındaki Suriyeli öğrencilerin bir metindeki atasözlerini belirleme becerisinde başarılı, deyimleri belirleme becerisinde ise başarısız oldukları; atasözleri ve deyimleri birbirinden ayırt etme becerisinde ağırlıklı olarak başarı gösterdikleri, atasözleri ve deyimlerin anlamlarını kavrama becerisinde ise genellikle başarısız oldukları görülmüştür. Geçici koruma altındaki Suriyeli öğrencilerin sözü edilen beceri alanlarındaki yeterlilik durumları değerlendirilirken Millî Eğitim Bakanlığının temel eğitim düzeyinde gerçekleştirilen sınavlar için belirlediği kesme puanı (45 puan) esas alınmıştır.

Abstract
In this study, it has been aimed to determine the skills of Syrian students under temporary protection, who are in the process of acquiring Turkish as a second language, to identify, distinguish and comprehend proverbs and idioms, which are the basic vocabulary elements of the language. In accordance with the determined purpose, forty-four Syrian students under temporary protection, studying at the 5th-grade level in eight elementary education institutions in the province of Batman in the 2021-2022 academic year, were determined as the study group through convenience sampling, which is one of the non-probability sampling methods. The descriptive method, one of the non-experimental quantitative research patterns, was used in the research. An achievement test composed of three main items and twelve sub-items was developed by the researchers and applied to the study group. After the data collection process was completed, the test copies containing the students' answers were examined by taking the rubric as the criterion. The findings obtained within the framework of the research questions were interpreted in tables with the help of descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage and arithmetic mean). As a result of the research, it was determined that Syrian students under temporary protection were successful in identifying proverbs in a text, but they were unsuccessful in identifying idioms, they are generally successful in distinguishing proverbs and idioms from each other, and they are generally unsuccessful in understanding the meanings of proverbs and idioms. While evaluating the proficiency status of Syrian students under temporary protection in the mentioned skill areas, the cut-off score (45 points) determined by the Ministry of National Education for the exams held at the elementary education level was taken as a basis.
